Both United States Senators representing Texas are Republican.  Similarly, on the state level, each branch of government is aligned Republican:   

Legislative.  Republicans maintain a solid and strong majority in both chambers of the state legislature.  The Speaker of the House, elected by vote of all House members, is Republican.  The Lieutenant Governor, although classified by the Texas Constitution as a member of the executive branch, presides over the Senate and is also Republican.

Executive.  Republican Governor Rick Perry nominates and appoints (with a few exceptions) executive agency officials, such as the Texas Secretary of State.  All of the elected state-wide officials are Republican.

Judicial.  All state-wide elected judges in Texas are Republican.
